Liverpool face Wrexham in New York as 9GO! screens pre-season clash live
Liverpool continue their pre-season campaign with a meeting against Wrexham at Yankee Stadium in New York City, with Australian viewers able to watch the match live on 9GO! on Thursday morning.
The fixture brings together one of the Premier League’s biggest clubs and a Wrexham side whose rise under co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney has attracted worldwide attention.

Reynolds recently described the occasion as a “punch-me moment”, reflecting on how far the Welsh club has come since the pair purchased Wrexham five years ago while the team was playing in the National League.
The match also marks Liverpool’s third appearance at Yankee Stadium, with the club drawing 2-2 in each of its previous visits.
In July 2014, Liverpool shared the spoils with Manchester City, with goals from Jordan Henderson and Raheem Sterling.
Five years later, in July 2019, the club again played out a 2-2 draw, this time against Sporting CP, with Divock Origi and Georginio Wijnaldum finding the net.
The venue also holds a personal connection for Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola, who finished his playing career with New York City FC. During his time with the MLS club, he made 40 appearances, including 20 at Yankee Stadium, which is shared by New York City FC and the New York Yankees.
Opened in 2009, Yankee Stadium has a capacity of 47,309 and is known for its 31,000-square-foot Great Hall, the largest open-air entry at any sports venue in the world. The stadium has also hosted concerts by artists including Jay-Z, Eminem, Paul McCartney, Metallica and Madonna.
