Police have arrested two people after they allegedly found about $3 million worth of drugs, explosives, firearms and cash at a property in Sydney’s southwest.
Detectives and the raptor squad found six grenades, three semi-automatic rifles, four shot guns, a pistol, and more than 1000 rounds of ammunition at the safehouse in Glenfield at about 9am on Tuesday.
They also found 6 kilograms of cocaine, 1kg each of methylamphetamine and ketamine, 15kg of cannabis, over 1kg of heroin, more than 100g of MDMA, known as ecstasy, and about $9000 in cash.

Assistant Commissioner Scott Cook said these weapons “have no place” in Sydney.
“The fact these items were located inside an alleged safe house shows the level of violence these groups are prepared to engage in, and the level of risk they pose to the public,” he said.
A man and a woman, both aged 26, were arrested and taken to Campbelltown Police Station.
The man, charged with 27 offences, has been refused bail and will appear in court on Wednesday. The woman was granted conditional bail and will appear in court on Thursday.
NSW Police’s special task force, which targets organised crime, has so far arrested almost 700 people and laid 1727 charges since it was set up in May last year.
Minister for Police and Counter-terrorism Yasmin Catley signalled that the outcome could have been horrible if these firearms hadn’t been seized.
“It’s awful to think what could have happened if police hadn’t intervened when they did,” she said.
“We do not want to see these weapons in our communities and thanks to the hard work of police, they are now out of the hands of criminals.
“To anyone thinking of taking part in this alleged vicious criminality, our message is be prepared to spend a long time in a small cell.”
