Robert Irwin is getting a few last minute pointers before stepping onto Australian television’s biggest stage and night of nights.
Ahead of the 66th TV WEEK Logie Awards, Seven has shared a new look at the wildlife conservationist’s preparations, with former Logies host Mick Molloy putting him through a light hearted crash course before the big night.
In the light hearted promo, Molloy equips Irwin with everything from a fictional “Logie joke creator” to a stopwatch to keep the ceremony on time, while warning the first time host not to get ahead of himself.

The hosting gig is just the latest addition to a busy run for Irwin, who is currently hosting the new US series Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro for ABC and Disney+, while also recently being confirmed to host Network 10’s revival of Australian Ninja Warrior.
Irwin takes over from comedian Sam Pang, who hosted Australian television’s night of nights for the past three years, with this year’s ceremony also marking 70 years of Australian television.
Let’s hope they don’t need to reach for the emergency Larry Emdur on the night.
