Titan Manga Reveals Early Preview of Strange Pictures Volume 2

Titan Manga has revealed an exclusive early preview of the front cover and art of Strange Pictures Volume 2. It will be released in bookstores, comic shops, and online retailers on September 1, 2026.

The second volume’s main premise is described as:

This second volume features a gripping tale of a child who knows more than he should. What starts as an innocent drawing reveals a dark secret that lingers on a mother’s psyche. A creeping presence that seems to follow her, watching her. All while dredging up fragments of her past. All stemming from one strange picture…

Strange Pictures is a manga adaptation of Uketsu’s mystery horror novel of the same name, which is drawn by Kikou Aiba. It first debuted on the Comic CMoa website on March 15, 2024 and was later serialized on Futabasha’s Web Action manga website on April 16, 2024. Four tankobon volumes have been released in Japan as of February 2026.

Uketsu’s original novel, titled Henna E in Japanese, was published by Futabasha on October 20, 2022. It was later published in English by HarperCollins’ HarperVia imprint on January 14, 2025.

Titan Manga describes the main synopsis of Strange Pictures as:

Strange Pictures is the spine-tingling manga adaptation of Uketsu’s bestselling debut novel, brought vividly to life by artist Aiba Noriyuki. Uketsu – the enigmatic masked writer who has become one of Japan’s most talked-about authors – first captivated readers with a novel that sold in the millions. Now, the terror unfolds panel by panel.

At its core lie nine childlike sketches. A pregnant woman’s doodles on her blog conceal a dire warning. A boy’s simple drawing of his home hides a message no child should know. A murder victim’s final sketch becomes a clue that drags an amateur sleuth into a labyrinth of secrets. Each picture is innocent at first glance – yet when pieced together, they reveal a web of unsolved mysteries and shattered psyches.

Pre-orders for the second volume are now available from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Forbidden Planet for the U.K. and Europe.
