They Called Her a Burden

They Called Her a Burden

Some called her a burden.

Some even said, “Lock her inside.”

But her mother chose something far more powerful—belief. ❤️

Diagnosed with autism at a time when awareness was limited, Ankita faced misunderstanding, stigma, seizures, and eventually lost her opportunity to continue formal schooling. Yet her story didn’t end there.

With unwavering support from her family, she built a life filled with confidence and independence. Today, at 30, Ankita helps manage her home, stays active, and continues to prove that a diagnosis should never define a person’s potential.

Her journey reminds us that the greatest barrier isn’t autism—it’s the stereotypes and judgments that society places on people who are different.

Every child deserves to be seen, supported, and celebrated for who they are.

💙 What’s one thing you wish more people understood about autism?
