Early Career at Juhayna: A Direct Entry into Sports Marketing

In 2011, Mohamed began his professional journey at Juhayna Dairy—but unlike common assumptions, his role was directly tied to sports marketing from the beginning.

Juhayna was one of the oldest and most consistent sponsors of Al Ahly SC and the Egyptian national team for over two decades. Mohamed joined as a Sports Marketing Specialist, where he was responsible for managing sponsorship contracts related to both entities.

This role became a strong foundation for his career. Over time, he grew into a Sports Marketing Team Leader, managing sponsorship operations and gaining deep insight into how large-scale sports partnerships function.

Growth at Sela Sport: Rising Through the Ranks

Mohamed then moved to Sela Sport, a leading sports marketing company headquartered in Saudi Arabia with operations in Egypt.

While Sela Sport handled commercial rights for multiple clubs across Saudi Arabia, Mohamed’s role in Egypt was focused specifically on Al Ahly SC.

His growth within the company was rapid and well-earned:

  • Joined as CRM Senior Team Leader
  • Promoted to CRM Manager
  • Advanced to Marketing Manager

This phase of his career refined his expertise in customer relationship management, marketing strategy, and sports business operations.

Building His Own Agency—and Facing a Global Setback

Driven by ambition, Mohamed took a bold step and established his own sports marketing agency.

During this time, he successfully executed:

  • Major projects within the Egyptian Football League
  • Collaborations with the Egyptian Olympic Committee
  • Development of sportswear and sports brands that continue to operate in the market today

However, like many entrepreneurs worldwide, his journey faced an unexpected challenge during the COVID-19 pandemic. The global crisis forced him to shut down the company, marking one of the toughest moments in his career.

Yet, this experience strengthened his resilience and sharpened his leadership mindset.

Leadership at Al Ahly SC: Driving Strategy and Global Partnerships

Mohamed’s journey came full circle when he joined Al Ahly SC as the Executive Director of Marketing and Investment.

In this role, he works closely with global football bodies such as FIFA and CAF.

His responsibilities include:

  • Leading marketing and investment strategies
  • Managing global partnerships
  • Driving the club’s commercial growth
  • Contributing to long-term strategic planning

This position reflects not just career progression, but a return to the club that inspired his journey from the very beginning.

Giving Back Through Education

Beyond his executive role, Mohamed contributes to shaping future professionals. He serves as a lecturer in the FIFA Sports Management Diploma at Cairo University.

Through this program, he shares real-world insights, helping students understand the practical side of sports marketing and preparing them for industry challenges.
