The anime, described as a proper sequel to 1998’s Future GPX Cyber Formula Sin OVA, will feature a new vehicle design dubbed the Zenith Asurada AKF-S0/G. The vehicle is created by the series’ machine designer Shoji Kawamori (Macross co-creator, Aquarion Evol co-creator and chief director et al., Macross: Do You Remember Love? co-director).

A new game titled Future GPX Cyber Formula Spira and a “memorial promotion video” for the various Future GPX Cyber Formula OVA were revealed as well.

Future GPX Cyber Formula began in 1991 with the TV anime of the same name. It was followed the OVAs Future GPX Cyber Formula 11, Future GPX Cyber Formula ZERO, Future GPX Cyber Formula EARLYDAYS RENEWAL, and finally Future GPX Cyber Formula Sin. Mitsuo Fukuda (Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Freedom director) was credited as director on the first two entries and as chief director on the rest. Fukuda is also credited with the story drafts for the OVAs.
