When five-year-old Soumya fell nearly 50 feet into an old well in Farrukhabad’s Rasidabad Ballabh village, panic spread through the area.
For nearly three hours, villagers, police personnel, firefighters and officials worked to rescue her.
But the narrow well and lack of breathable air made the rescue operation extremely difficult.
Manoj Kumar tried to descend three times, but each time, he had to turn back after struggling to breathe.
Then he made another attempt—with an oxygen mask and cylinder.
This time, he reached Soumya.
He held her safely and helped bring her back to the surface. ❤️
For a five-year-old child trapped nearly 50 feet underground, those three hours must have felt endless.
For everyone waiting above, too.
But Manoj kept trying until she was safe.
His story is a reminder that courage isn’t about never stepping back.
Sometimes, courage means finding the strength to try again.
