Taking a different direction from its glamorous BKC outpost, La Panthera has opened doors in the historic Eros Building at Churchgate, dipping into the neighbourhood’s Art Deco character for inspiration. Think a stylish European-meets-SoBo apartment with an elegant bar, intimate nooks, a library lounge, a private dining room and a balcony opening up to views of Churchgate Station. Refined European fare makes up the menu crafted by chef Manuel Oliveira, which kicks things off with pintxos and tapas such as creamy brown cauliflower croquetas with manchego cheese and black truffle, baked butter garlic crab, Bloody Mary ceviche, chicken wings stuffed with orzo and blue cheese and mains like a triple-smashed smash burger and morels risotto. Sip on libations like La Panthera dirty martini with olive vodka or the Spanish carajillo. End with icy scoops of gelato and desserts like banana soufflé with salted caramel ice cream.

Masque
After 10 years of giving diners a refined taste of India’s diverse cuisine from across the length and breadth of the country, the award-winning restaurant shuttered for a refresh—not just of its avatar but also its menu. The revamped space, designed by Atelier Ashiesh Shah, makes a statement with a layered design narrative that reveals itself slowly. A palette of amber, rust and deep green works in cohesion with large artwork lining the walls, while sculptures make for eye-catching moments and rich carpeting adds warmth. An intimate bar on the upper level makes for a quiet spot to end the evening with a nightcap. The new tasting menu, crafted by chef Varun Totlani, is elevated with ingredient pairings like sea buckthorn and pani puri, bombil papad with trout roe, and miso chai with charred corn.
