What the ‘RUSSH’ editors are shopping and loving in July

As we turn the corner into the second half of 2026, we’re holding our position on what matters most in our wardrobes and on our vanities right now: cool-weather essentials, and elevated accessories.

We’re finding comfort in shearling-lined foot and headwear, jackets and coats to brave the chill, and the best hydrating skincare. Here’s what we’re adding to our carts in July.

Recently I’ve realised I have perfected all but one piece in my skincare routine – my cleanser. I’ve tried a lot but most have dried my skin out or never given me the results I need, and all my research leads me to Augustinus Bader foaming cleanser. So that is high on my list.

I’ve seen the Theodore+Co bezel tennis bracelet which is such an incredible and affordable option. Might need to add to my stack.

I’ve also been investing in good cotton basics as I’ve been cleaning out my closet. There are so many pieces from Cou Cou Intimates that I love – particularly their jersey long sleeve tops and their white cotton jersey bralette and thong.

I would love to get a new eye shadow brush too, mine are almost hairless! And I love the idea of a retractable and dual-ended brush, like this one from CHANEL. And something a little more luxe I would love is a personalised stationary set from Memoire World.

I thought long sleeves – and a lot of them – would be enough to see me through the coming months, but I am forced to admit they are not, and I need gloves too. I really want some fingerless gloves so I can still type, play and show off rings, when the weather is bleak.

Little bits of beauty are essential to one’s day. I would love to add the aptly named Chopard Ice Cube ring to my collection in white gold, and contrast it with the more organic shapes of the Sarah and Sebastian Overtone ring

I’m lusting after all things shearling to stay toasty, so the Loewe Leopard Print Shearling Hat has been added to my wishlist. Its vague allusion to Dylan’s Leopard Print Pillbox hat makes it all the more enticing. JW Anderson’s shearling lined loafers are conveniently on sale, making them feel almost like a winter requirement.

As one can never have too many black trousers and I am a fan of pockets and all things utilitarian, I’m adding the Maje Cargo Trousers as a chic but practical winter staple. I would also love some of the Climax Book’s socks because yes, books are exciting.

I’ve been loving throwing on my new Ena Pelly Khya Faux Leather Jacket as it’s incredibly warm but still chic enough to don for a wine. I’m also majorly obsessed with the CELINE Disc Sunglasses – bug-eyed glasses are my next need. I’m also in need of a great, louche long sleeve and the FWF Long Sleeve Tee is beckoning to me as well – particularly the black, but also kind of the pink?

My housemate brought me back this Apostle Crispy Chilli Oil from a recent trip and it’s lived on everything from stews to eggs and bao already. TSU LANGE YOR’s The Garden Trio is also a new fave for layering. Loamy, earthy and with hints of that beautiful petrichor.

If it isn’t already obvious, I’m currently obsessed with the leather-and-fur jacket combination. The Betty jacket from PPEACHED (made even more appealing because it shares my grandmother’s name) and the Abrigo jacket from The Wolfgang are both sitting high on my wish list. I’ve also been completely taken by this brown longline coat, which feels like the perfect winter investment piece. When it comes to bottoms, I’m trying to embrace skirts as much as possible this season. The Seren Skirt from Katerina Lou has to be one of the most flattering pieces in my wardrobe right now. I receive compliments every time I wear it. I’ve been loving styling it with knee-high boots and a leather bomber jacket. This skirt from Zero Meaning paired with their Boxy Long Sleeve has become my go-to evening look, again finished with some form of leather bomber.

Honestly, if the Boxy Long Sleeve is good enough for Troye Sivan, it’s good enough for me. I usually struggle with winter evening wear, but lately I’ve been finding ease in this plaid top from Apres Studio paired with these adorable check-lined pants. The perfect outfit for indoor date nights and long winter dinners.

As for accessories, I’m completely drawn to this bag from Brie Leon at the moment. I’ve also had my eye on these black sunglasses. Finally, I’m in desperate need of a restock of my signature scent, MLM No.4 forever and a fresh tube of hand cream from Aesop.

This July, I’m leaning into a wardrobe built on rich chocolate tones, chic tailoring and forever pieces that will outlast the season. This Friends with Frank jacket recently made its way into my wardrobe. I’m planning on pairing it with these Camilla and Marc pants in espresso for a monochromatic moment. My love for Babywool shirts is well documented, for someone who is perpetually cold this is a stylish solution. This wrap top from St. Agni’s is an interesting silhouette.

A statement earring, like these from AGMES, are an uncomplicated way to add an extra something to any outfit.  Beauty-wise, I’m embracing softer, warmer neutrals with MERIT’s The Color Duo. On my coffee table, Sofia Coppola’s Marc by Sofia feels like the perfect source of visual inspiration.

It’s sad news, but I’m presently on a shopping ban, which means anything I am adding to cart this month is truly essential. I’ve allowed myself to purchase one new coat/jacket this winter, and since I have quite a few long-line pieces, I’m going to opt for something shorter with this CAMILLA & MARC Sage Check jacket. It’s not overly heavy and there’s plenty of room to layer over or under.

My knee-high black boots need replacing, my previous pair having had an amazing run (15 years and still kicking), so I’m willing to invest a little bit more in a pair that will go the distance. I think I am going to pull the trigger on this pair from Staud – the heel height is perfect for everyday wear.

I recently added the Skin Better Science AlphaRet Overnight Cream to my routine and I’m already planning on buying my next bottle. I’m pretty lazy when it comes to skincare (or as I like to say, essentials only), and I have very much enjoyed the fact that this has Retinol, Glycolic, Lactic Acid, Antioxidants and Peptides all in one. And lastly, now that we are starting to really feel winter here in Sydney, I realised I needed to restock some of my favourite socks. My feet definitely feel the cold, so merino is the only way. The ribbed style from Toorallie is always my first choice.

I found myself completely stuck getting dressed as the weather cooled down. I’m still on the hunt for the perfect jacket, but Minima Esenciales has solved my search for long-sleeve basics that can be easily elevated. Otherwise, I’m always drawn to white t-shirts like this cinched version, but also, in my opinion, the perfect tee from Beare Park. Paired with these cobalt linen pants from Polo Ralph Lauren would make an easy daytime look.

This Attico bag – in literally any colour or material – will be sitting on my wishlist until it’s finally in my hands. My ears don’t take well to piercings, so I’ve become a fan of Ear Cuffs instead. Simuero has some unique statement pieces.

My activewear drawer is due for a slight refresh, and Lululemon is always my first stop. I’m also trying to decide between burgundy or black slip-on shoes. Maybe it’ll have to be both.

A few things I have already bought on my wish list, these tortoise shell sunglasses and these jelly sandals. The sunglasses are large enough that they block the glare at the top and the sides. I love the skinny sunglasses trends, but they’re not as practical. These are more comfortable to wear in the sun. The sandals are a smart buy as they look like a fabulous leather pair but they’re actually rubber so I don’t feel bad wearing them to the beach. I also am looking at the Balenciaga Bel Air.  It’s such a universal style that I know I’ll keep forever.

Now that Cou Cou Intimates has an Australian stockist, I have to admit I’ve been eyeing off a few of the pieces, especially this top. Finally, I’m going to buy another Yin Flares set from Pinky & Kamal. I have two already (brown and blue), it’s just the most versatile and comfortable set. This is what I wear to Pilates and when I’m lounging in the house, so ostensibly my uniform. One more set will help me make it to laundry day.

My to-buy list is positively overflowing this month. St Agni have launched their latest drop and surprise surprise, I love it all. In particular I’m a fan of these jeans – I don’t have a brown pair in my wardrobe – and this cami. They do great basics.

I’m struggling with the current temperature drop, so have been scouring for new layering pieces and great outerwear. I’m loving this jacket from Camilla and Marc, and this one from Carelli. Can you tell I’m into the collarless look? As for layering, I love this slouchy long sleeve by &Daughter, and I’m still loyal to my trusty Flore Flore long sleeve. Accessories-wise, this red crochet ballet flat from Magda Butrym has caught my eye, as have these Thistles glasses (much like the rest of the world).

A wardrobe clean out over the past few weeks has left me with a couple of winter wardrobe spots that need filling. I’ve been coveting COS knitwear for some time and have this Rounded Wool V-Neck Jumper in my cart. Arcaa’s outwear pieces are always great. This Rory Jacket is on the list. Also these St. Agni jeans – I’ve heard great things.

I’m nearly at my 10 year wedding anniversary, so we’ve been discussing an addition to my engagement and wedding ring collection to celebrate. Lindelli has such an incredible collection of unique engagement rings and I’ve had my eye on a couple of styles. This Mara Marquise Ring is stunning and feels so special. For something that makes a statement and would come out for special occasions, I love the Verre – 3.00 Carat – Emerald & Baguette Trilogy ring. Decisions, decisions!

As a Kiwi, I dearly miss my Red Band gum boots, so I would love to pick up a pair asap. And while I’m feeling homesick, I’m reminded that nothing beats New Zealand wool. I’ve been scrolling on Swanndri and would love to purchase this Wool Bushshirt. I’m in dire need of some fluffy socks as well, and these High Heel Jungle Cashmere Socks look great.

I’ve found my skin to be quite dull of late, and have genuinely seen a difference in using the Vitamin C Elixir from Mukti. I also have their Marigold Hydrating Creme on my shopping list. Lastly, I’ve just purchased a few things from Bio Blends by Dr Libby (Organic Daily Greens & Reds, Iconic Iron and Organic Zinc), and I’m very keen to see how they go.
