In a shocking incident, a journalist was beaten up and stabbed by three unidentified assailants on Monday night in Tamil Nadu.
Haja Muhaideen, who works at a local news channel, was approached by three men when he was resting at home after coming back from work. One of them told Muhaideen that he needed help to file a complaint at the local police station.
Muhaideen first spoke to the person and then, to ascertain more details about his case, he stepped out of his home to talk further. While he was checking his phone, the man suddenly took out a hidden bottle and tried to break it on his head.
A CCTV camera, which was placed somewhere close, recorded the entire incident. The footage showed that Muhaideen was assaulted repeatedly by the man. His mother and wife, who were inside the house, came out to save him; however, their effort barely made any change, as the man kept hitting Muhaideen. He also pushed his mother a few times.
Meanwhile, the other two men, who were present at the spot, were seen starting their vehicle. Minutes later, the three fled from the spot, riding the scooter.
The reason behind the sudden attack on the journalist is unknown. The family members admitted him to the Thanjavur Government Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment in a critical condition.
