For years, farmers in these villages faced the same contradiction: too much water during the monsoon, and too little for the rest of the year.
The solution was not to fight the water, but to help the villages hold on to it. By reviving old ponds and desilting traditional water bodies, communities are now managing floodwater better, reducing crop losses and making more water available for farming. Today, farmers are cultivating larger areas and, in some cases, growing three crops a year — turning a recurring challenge into an opportunity for growth.
