The Las Vegas Raiders need receiver help, and here is their perfect offer to the Browns for Jerry Jeudy before the NFL trade deadline.
It seems like the Cleveland Browns are ready to send Jerry Jeudy to another team, perhaps the Las Vegas Raiders. The veteran receiver had a rough go of things in the preseason. But there is still value left, and here is the Raiders’ perfect offer to the Browns before the 2026 NFL trade deadline.
Jeudy has been almost invisible for the Browns’ offense this season. Here are his target totals: 4, 1, 0, 3, 7. His total catches are eight for a paltry 81 yards. No touchdowns, of course.
However, he’s only two years removed from catching 90 passes for 1,229 yards and four touchdowns in his first season with the Browns.
What would the Raiders need to give up for WR Jerry Jeudy?
First, they should not in any way give up a third-round pick. That’s the Browns’ dream asking price, according to a post on X by Jordan Schultz via Bleacher Report.
“It’s pretty well known around the league that Jeudy’s available,” Schultz reported. “But my understanding is Cleveland would like something in that early third to fourth range. I’m just not sure they’ll be able to get it. Bottom line, Jerry Jeudy’s available. And he’s another name I’d keep an eye on as we get closer to the deadline.”
Last year, Jeudy caught 50 balls for 602 yards and two scores. This year, Jeudy has fallen behind rookies Denzel Boston and KC Concepcion.
Why do the Raiders need Jerry Jeudy?
The problem for the Raiders is the lack of a dog. They have Tre Tucker as their WR1. He has only 19 catches for 274 yards with one score.
Granted, the Raiders’ offense runs through Brock Bowers. However, Bowers missed the first two games, and Tucker still didn’t shine. The Raiders’ second-best receiver in terms of production is Cody White. He has seven catches for 108 yards. Jalen Nailor has five grabs for 52 yards.
The Raiders’ receiver room is a mess. Jeudy would provide a reasonably good upgrade.
And here’s the thing about Jeudy. He wouldn’t be expensive. The Browns want to move him. There’s a chance the Raiders could get Jeudy for a fifth-round pick. That’s really his true worth at this point.
Jeudy can stretch the field. And that would open things up even more for Bowers.
Of course, getting Dont’e Thornton back on the field would help add to the mix. Head coach Klint Kubiak sent Thornton a message this week, according to a post on X by Sam Warren.
“Klint Kubiak on what he wants to see from Raiders WR Dont’e Thornton Jr. to be activated from IR: ‘He’s got to prove to us that he’s ready to go play in an NFL game. His conditioning is there. You know, he didn’t have a lot of training camp, guys. He’s coming back from a lot of time off, but he put himself in a position last week to prove to us this week and maybe next week that he’s ready to go.’
On the benchmarks he’s looking for from Thornton to prove he’s ready to play: ‘Just with any player that’s coming back from an injury that’s been out for a long time, No. 1 is conditioning, No. 2 is being assignment sound, and No. 3 is making plays.’ ”
Overall, the Raiders need to make a trade. And Jeudy should be a prime target.
