Boston police are investigating after a dead body was found Saturday near a Mattapan home owned by Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley’s husband.
Officers responded to 25 Malta St. shortly before 2 p.m. for an “investigate person” call and found an unresponsive body near the home, according to The Boston Globe. City records show Conan Harris, Pressley’s husband, owns the seven-bedroom house.
Pressley and her husband live in Hyde Park. The Mattapan home, built in 1910 and valued at more than $919,000, is a rental property, a spokesperson told the Globe.
“The congresswoman extends her deepest condolences to the impacted family,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
Officers at the scene declined to comment on whether anyone was living in the house, but Chantae Turner, the realtor who is selling the property, told the Globe that it has been on the market for about a month. She said she didn’t know anything about what happened Saturday.
Neighbors said they didn’t hear anything either, but one of them told the Globe that she recalled the home being raided two months ago. At the time, there were tenants living on each floor, including high-school-aged teenagers.
