There was never a shortage of artisans in Tharad. There was a shortage of buyers.
What began with one artisan’s determination to find buyers beyond his village has grown into one of the region’s largest women-led appliqué collectives. Today, it’s become a movement that creates livelihoods, preserves tradition, and opens doors that were once out of reach.
With support from Flipkart Foundation and AIACA, the collective has unlocked a new phase of growth — expanding market access and reimagining traditional appliqué products for new markets, ensuring this centuries-old craft thrives for generations to come.
