Myles Garrett’s message to Cleveland will have fans in feelings

After nine years, Myles Garrett’s time with the Cleveland Browns has come to a close. But he is not leaving the organization with any animosity.

Ultimately, at this stage of his career, Garrett wants to win a Super Bowl title. For as much history as he has with the Browns, he knows the Rams are much closer to that goal, via Scott Petrak of the Chronicle Telegram.

“Since the very beginning it’s always been about winning. Just breaks down to the timing, what does it look like realistically to be a winner now,” Garrett said. “I’ll always have love in my heart for Cleveland.”

Garrett arrived to Cleveland as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Since then, the Browns have made the playoffs twice. They never advanced past the Divisional Round. Furthermore, while the franchise may have had a strong draft, they’re still coming off of a 5-12 season. Garrett decided it was time to leave and chase his ring with a Rams franchise that has gone all-in on winning.

Still, the pass rusher’s time in Cleveland won’t soon be forgotten. Garrett was named Defensive Player of the Year twice, a Pro Bowler seven times and a All-Pro five times. He broke the NFL single-season sack record with 23 in 2025. Even when the Browns were at their lowest, Garrett has at least provided a light at the end of the tunnel.

He is now ready to embark on the next phase of his NFL career. But whatever happens in Los Angeles, Garrett will always remember his run in Cleveland.
