A 7-week-old kitten was rescued from traffic on I-93 North in Woburn last week, a local animal rescue said.
A Good Samaritan rescued the kitten, which is now in the care of the Animal Rescue League of Boston, the organization announced Tuesday.
The rescue league aptly named the “adorable black kitten” Freeway, the rescue said. Freeway is currently staying with a foster volunteer, where she will remain until she is ready for adoption.
“Some say black cats bring bad luck, but this little lady is proof that every superstition has it wrong,” the Animal Rescue League of Boston wrote on Facebook. “While Freeway isn’t quite ready for adoption, maybe this is your sign to welcome another black cat into your family. Don’t let superstitions haunt you.”
Those interested in adopting Freeway or other animals can visit www.arlboston.org/adopt, the organization said.
