Long before she became an architect, entrepreneur, author, and creative visionary, Victoria Bitar was a child determined to improve the world around her.
Growing up in Lebanon, she spent her early years organizing neighborhood children into imaginative projects. She designed dollhouses, created clothing for dolls, planned events, and invented stories that brought her ideas to life. Even then, creativity was never simply a hobby. It was a way of seeing possibilities where others saw limitations.
During the difficult years of war in Lebanon, Victoria often assisted her father, who worked as a carpenter after being unable to continue his career as a computer programmer. Surrounded by the scent of wood, the rhythm of craftsmanship, and the process of building something meaningful from raw materials, she discovered a fascination that would stay with her forever.
Stories about her grandfather, a respected builder in the Beirut region, further fueled her imagination. Looking back, those experiences laid the foundation for a future that would blend architecture, art, storytelling, and leadership into a singular mission: creating a better world through creativity.
Discovering the Perfect Profession
Sometimes life-changing moments arrive unexpectedly.
In her final year of school, a friend casually mentioned his decision to pursue architecture. For Victoria, it was an instant revelation.
The profession represented everything she loved. It combined artistic expression with scientific precision, creativity with mathematics, and imagination with practical problem-solving.
For the first time, she saw a career path that perfectly aligned with her personality and ambitions.
Architecture became more than a profession. It became the language through which she could transform ideas into reality.
Designing Landmarks With Meaning
Among the many milestones throughout her career, one project remains especially significant.
Victoria’s design for the Uqair Beach Resort in Saudi Arabia stands as a powerful reflection of her architectural philosophy.
Rather than simply creating buildings, she sought to tell a story through design. The resort’s flowing curves were inspired by the signature of the sea meeting the eternal land, symbolizing harmony between different identities while preserving their unique characteristics.
Every element of the project was intentionally crafted to integrate sustainability, cultural relevance, and environmental responsibility. Green architecture, sustainable materials, and meaningful spatial experiences became central components of the design.
As a Lebanese woman leading the vision for such a landmark development, the project represented both a personal achievement and a broader statement about the role of architecture in shaping culture, community, and identity.
From Drafting Tables to Leadership Roles
Victoria’s professional journey began long before graduation.
While still in her second year of architecture studies, she joined the Chalet Nasrallah project at Lebanon’s prestigious Faqra Country Club, working as a CAD draftswoman. The experience provided early exposure to luxury developments and the technical precision required in professional architecture.
She later worked alongside respected architects including Samir Ghaoui and Charles Hadifeh, contributing to prestigious developments across Lebanon, Qatar, Jordan, and the wider region.
Balancing demanding projects with university studies was not easy. Like many aspiring professionals, she faced the challenge of proving herself while still considered a trainee.
Yet those years taught lessons that would shape her leadership style for decades to come: discipline, resilience, continuous learning, and the determination to earn opportunities through hard work.
Leading Through Creativity
Today, Victoria operates at the intersection of architecture, business, art, and storytelling.
She serves as CEO of Victoria Bitar Architects, CTO of Akkary Group s.a.r.l., and Associate Founder and Art Director of Glitter Events.
Beyond her corporate responsibilities, she is developing a children’s book series, writing a personal reflection book, and creating an art collection titled Blooming After War, a body of work exploring resilience, renewal, hope, and rebuilding after adversity.
While these projects span different industries, they share a common purpose.
Every initiative reflects her commitment to inspiring positive change and encouraging people to embrace creativity, compassion, and possibility.
As a mother of four daughters, she believes one of the greatest responsibilities any leader has is planting seeds of hope, curiosity, and ambition for future generations.
The Human Side of Architecture
Throughout her career, Victoria has learned that successful architecture is about far more than buildings.
One lesson stands above all others: understanding people matters as much as understanding design.
Her approach is deeply influenced by the philosophy of Lebanese poet Kahlil Gibran, whose reflections on learning from every experience continue to guide her perspective.
Difficult clients have taught communication. Mistakes have taught preparation. Challenges have strengthened resilience.
Over time, she realized that architecture is fundamentally a human-centered profession. Studying psychology, understanding client motivations, and listening carefully to aspirations are just as important as mastering technical design principles.
The most successful spaces emerge when architects understand not only what clients want, but why they want it.
A Legacy Beyond Buildings
Victoria’s vision for the future extends beyond physical structures.
She hopes to leave behind a philosophy that endures long after buildings have aged and disappeared.
Inspired by Winston Churchill’s famous observation that “We shape our buildings, and thereafter they shape us,” she believes architecture has the power to influence behavior, inspire hope, and strengthen communities.
Whether through architecture, art, literature, or events, her goal remains consistent: to create experiences that encourage people to dream bigger, live more thoughtfully, and contribute positively to the world around them.
If future generations find inspiration in her work and choose to build with greater compassion, creativity, and purpose, she believes that will be her greatest achievement.
