Novice and Advanced drivers both get their shot at the full National Circuit on May 4 — and spots are going fast
The Dubai Autodrome National Circuit is officially on the table for first-timers. On Monday, May 4, 2025, Dubai Autodrome is running its Track Day on the National Circuit layout for both Novice and Advanced drivers at the same event, and this is a genuine first. If you have been putting off your first lap because you were not sure you were ready, that excuse just ran out.
What Is Happening on May 4
Dubai Autodrome has confirmed that the May 4 Track Day will take place on the National Circuit, making it the first time this layout is open to both driver categories on the same day. Whether you are a complete first-timer or a returning participant who prefers the Novice session’s pace, the circuit is yours this Monday.
This is not a special race event or a competition. It is a structured open track day where you bring your own car, get on the circuit in designated sessions, and drive. No professional experience needed. No pressure. Just you, your car, and a proper racing layout.
What Is the National Circuit
The Dubai Autodrome National Circuit is a 3.56-kilometre, 16-turn layout located in Dubailand, Dubai. The Autodrome holds an FIA Grade 1 license, the highest available classification for a motorsport venue. That puts it in the same category as the tracks that host international series and endurance races.
The National Circuit is not the full Grand Prix layout, but it features enough technical corners and quick sections to give any driver a genuinely challenging session. It is the kind of circuit that teaches you something every single lap.
Who Can Join
Dubai Autodrome structures its Track Days into two categories:
Novice — Designed for first-time participants or anyone who wants a more guided, controlled pace on the circuit. Drivers who have never attended a Dubai Autodrome Track Day are required to start here, regardless of general driving experience.
Advanced — For drivers who have already completed at least one Novice session at the Autodrome and are comfortable with track protocol, safety rules, and pace management.
On May 4, both sessions will be held on the Dubai Autodrome National Circuit, which means every driver, at every level, gets the exact same track.
Standard rules apply across both categories: you must be 18 or older with a valid driving licence. Road-legal cars are welcome, but SUVs, single-seaters, and open-wheel vehicles are not permitted. Helmets are mandatory and can be hired during the online booking process.
If you plan to bring a passenger or an additional driver, those can be added at checkout. Both will need to sign in personally at the registration area on the day.
How to Book
Head to dubaiautodrome.com to secure your spot. Passengers and additional drivers can also be added during the booking process but must personally sign in at the registration area on the day of the event.
Given that this is the first time both driver categories are sharing the National Circuit at the same Track Day, demand is expected to be higher than a standard Monday session. Early booking is the move.
Why This Matters
Track Days at Dubai Autodrome have always had a clear split between beginner and experienced sessions, but the circuit itself has not always been the same for both groups. Putting Novice drivers on the National Circuit changes what a first lap actually looks like. You are not being handed a scaled-down version of the experience. You are getting the real circuit from day one.
For anyone in Dubai who has ever watched motorsport and wondered what it would take to try it, this is one of the most straightforward answers available. One Monday afternoon. One booking. One circuit that has hosted some of the biggest names in Middle East motorsport.
May 4 is the date to know.
