The Celtics quickly sought to address a point of need on the team’s roster after the NBA’s free agent negotiating period began on Wednesday.
Per ESPN’s NBA insider Shams Charania, Boston has reached an agreement with former Knicks center Mitchell Robinson on a three-year contract worth a reported $47.4 million. Charania added that the third year of the reported contract includes a player option.
The Robinson news was the second reported Celtics signing of the day, following the initial story of Boston agreeing to a one-year deal with guard Mike Conley Jr.
Robinson, 28, was most recently a member of the Knicks championship-winning team, having played with New York since being selected by them in the second round of the 2018 NBA Draft.
