BINGE reveals first look at HIGH COUNTRY season two

The mystery is about to get a whole lot more personal, with BINGE offering a first look at what’s ahead for High Country: What Lies Beneath.

Leah Purcell is back as Andie, who finds herself drawn into a dangerous new case that will test her loyalties and challenge everything she thought she knew about herself and the community she calls home.

Andie isn’t heading back into the Victorian High Country alone, with Brendan Cowell, Ryan Corr and Nadine Garner joining returning stars Ian McElhinney, Sara Wiseman and Aaron Pedersen for the new chapter.

Purcell, who also serves as an Executive Producer on the series, is clearly excited to get back into the mystery, promising fresh storylines, new talent and some answers to questions left hanging from the first season.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be back with the team for Season 2 of High Country! I can’t wait to bring this much-anticipated new chapter to audiences around the world. With fresh storylines cleverly crafted, superb new talent joining the cast, and haunting questions finally answered — what more could you want from a second season?”

This time around, Andie is drawn into a case that is far more dangerous and personal than anything she has faced before, forcing her to question her loyalties and what she really knows about herself, her community and the High Country she now calls home.

Filming once again took place across Victoria, with Jamieson, Mansfield, Eildon and greater Melbourne providing the backdrop for the latest mystery.

The original High Country premiered on BINGE in March 2024, with Purcell starring as Detective Sergeant Andie Whitford as she investigated the disappearance of five people in the Victorian wilderness. The series became BINGE’s most-streamed show in both March and April that year and also found audiences overseas, including strong results on BBC1 in the UK and Hulu in the US.

The second season was announced by Foxtel Group in conjunction with VicScreen and Screen Australia in September 2025, with Purcell confirmed to return as Andie. The new cast additions were revealed in January, when BINGE announced Cowell, Corr and Garner had joined the production.

The second season now carries the title High Country: What Lies Beneath, distinguishing the new mystery from the original series while keeping Andie at the centre of the story.
