Abu Dhabi Padel League set for May launch

Abu Dhabi Sports Council has launched the Abu Dhabi Padel League 2026, with the first round set for May 9.

The league will run until September and will be played over eight rounds across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra.

ADSC says the format is designed to give more players across the emirate the chance to compete, with categories including C and D levels. Players will earn points at each round, with final standings decided at the end of the league.

The opening round will be held in Abu Dhabi on May 9. Al Dhafra will host the second round on May 16 and 17, before the league moves to Al Ain on June 6 and 7.

Abu Dhabi will stage round four on June 20 and 21. The fifth round will take place in Al Dhafra on July 11 and 12, followed by round six in Al Ain on July 25 and 26.

The league returns to Abu Dhabi on August 8 and 9 for round seven. The final round will be held in Al Dhafra on September 5 and 6, when the overall winners will be confirmed.

Talal Al Hashemi, Executive Director of the Events Sector at Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said the league forms part of ADSC’s work to make sport more accessible across the community. Al Hashemi said:

“The launch of the Abu Dhabi Padel League 2026 represents an important step within our ongoing efforts at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council to promote sports and make it a daily lifestyle for all members of the community.”

“Through such initiatives, we are keen to provide inclusive competitive platforms that offer opportunities for everyone to participate, while helping discover and develop talent, in line with our vision of building a healthy and active society.”

Padel has grown quickly in the UAE in recent years, with courts now a common sight across clubs, communities and sports venues.

ADSC said the league will help support that growth by giving players a clear competition structure across different regions of the emirate.

Al Hashemi said the council also wants to engage different age groups and community sections “in a motivating and safe sporting environment”.
