Some weddings are designed to impress, while others are meant to be felt. Lakshmi and Natasha’s celebration leaned firmly toward the latter. Thoughtfully envisioned and brought to life by WeddingSutra Favorite – Oh Yes Events, the wedding was shaped over the course of more than a year with a clear and consistent intention.
The planning team worked closely with the couple to translate their vision into an experience that felt honest, immersive, and effortless. “From the very beginning, the brief was clear,” shares Saravannan Saran of Oh Yes Events. “They wanted a wedding that felt natural and unforced. Our role was to support that through every decision.”
Mehndi
The Mehndi set the tone with quiet confidence. The design approach embraced restraint, allowing the surroundings to retain their character while lighting played a central role in shaping the mood. Soft, warm illumination settled across the space, creating an environment that felt calm and inviting. “There’s a certain confidence in holding back,” says Saravannan. “When a space is not overdesigned, people respond to it more naturally.” The ceremony began with a traditional bangle ritual that brought a sense of grounding and intimacy. A Kummi trance dance introduced rhythm and movement, followed by a well-timed shower of flowers that added an element of surprise. Friends contributed with lively performances that brought ease and spontaneity to the celebration. The most memorable moment came when Natasha sat down at the keyboard without announcement. Her music drew the room into a quiet pause, creating a moment that felt personal and unstructured.
Wedding
Surrounded by natural greens and open skies, the setting required very little intervention. The decor remained minimal, with delicate floral accents that complemented the environment without drawing attention away from it. “We approached it with respect for the space,” Saravannan explains. “It was about enhancing what already existed rather than changing it.” As the ceremony began, there was a noticeable shift in focus. Conversations softened, and attention centred on the couple. Lakshmi and Natasha chose to exchange personal vows, unscripted and entirely their own. “These are the moments that define a wedding,” says Saravannan. “You don’t need much else when the emotion is real.” Their words brought a sense of honesty and vulnerability that resonated with everyone present, turning the ceremony into something deeply meaningful.
Dinner
The final evening unfolded along the coast with an intimate dinner that prioritised presence over scale. The decor remained consistent with the overall aesthetic, simple, refined, and thoughtfully put together. Each table was styled with care, creating an atmosphere that felt warm and relaxed. What stood out were the personal touches. Every guest had a designated place setting accompanied by a handwritten note from the couple. “Details like these change how people experience a wedding,” Saravannan shares. “It makes it feel considered on a personal level.” Guests were also invited to leave messages for Lakshmi and Natasha to open on their fifteenth anniversary, adding a thoughtful, forward-looking element to the evening.
At its core, the wedding was guided by three principles: emotional connection, guest experience, and elegant simplicity. By staying true to these, Lakshmi and Natasha created a celebration that felt cohesive and intentional. “Weddings like these stay with you,” says Saravannan. “Not because of scale, but because of how they make people feel.”
