Maatrubhumi trailer launch: Salman Khan confesses, “I feared the film would NEVER be released”; thanks Censor Board and government ministries: “They passed the film WITHOUT any cuts”
Salman Khan was asked about it. He said, “Yes, we put the tape (on the November 20 mention) as our VFX is not yet done. We thought we’d show you the garma-garam trailer here. But our VFX company had to face a little bit of (delay). So, we are showing the trailer only to you guys. On social media and YouTube, we’ll upload it tomorrow, the day after or after that.”
A journalist asked Salman Khan if he feared that the film would never release. The star confessed, “Yes, I got this thought several times. There were a lot of ups and downs. Our film is based on Galwan Valley soldiers. Jo takleefon se woh guzre hain, mujhe lag raha hain ki hum bhi same takleefon se guzre hain yeh film mein. Even financially. Financially fir bhi theek hain but we faced a lot of challenges during the shoot. It was quite cold and all of these actors did so much action. I thought that for them, the film should be released. 100%, it’s a very beautiful story. It’s a noble film. You fear that when a film gets delayed, the interest may drop among the people. That is the only thing we were worried about. But once you see the trailer, you are going to understand what we were making and why it’s important for us to have this film released.”
He added, “Also, there was a wrong narrative against the film. But when the censor board and all the agencies saw it, they didn’t feel that anything was wrong with the film. So, this film has come out without any cuts. So, thank you to all the ministries and the censor board. Thank you very much!”
Salman Khan was asked if he planned to get this film in theatres on Independence Day or Republic Day. Salman confirmed, “We did try to bring the film for August 15 and January 26. But it’s a patriotic film. It’s a love story. I don’t think one can release such a film only on these two days. This film can release at any given point of time.”
