As spring festival season ramps up across the region, this week’s lineup includes everything from championship golf and Broadway musicals to street festivals, Pride celebrations and cultural events tied to Asian American, Pacific Islander and Jewish American heritage months.
The 108th PGA Championship tees off at Aronimink Golf Club with a full week of competition and events beginning Monday, while Broadway classic “Chicago” returns to Philadelphia for its first local run in nearly two decades from Tuesday through Sunday.
Neighborhood festivals continue to fill the calendar later in the week, including the Overbrook Night Market on Thursday, East Kensington Spring Fest on Friday and Girard Avenue Street Fest on Saturday.

The weekend also brings some of the region’s biggest annual celebrations. The South 9th Street Italian Market Festival returns Saturday and Sunday with food vendors, live entertainment and the city’s well-known greased pole-climbing tradition, while New Hope Celebrates PrideFest wraps up a week of LGBTQ+ programming with a parade, performances, parties and community events through Sunday.
