America’s 250th birthday has arrived, and Philadelphia is celebrating with one of its biggest weeks of the year. From patriotic traditions and free community events to concerts, sports and historic milestones, there’s no shortage of ways to mark Independence Day in the nation’s birthplace.

The week begins with a pair of notable events on Wednesday. Wawa Welcome America hosts its annual Free Hoagie Day at the National Constitution Center, while the First Bank of the United States welcomes visitors back inside for the first time in 50 years following an extensive restoration.

The celebrations continue Thursday with Red, White, & Blue To Do, when museums and historic sites across the Historic District offer family-friendly activities ahead of the holiday weekend. On Friday, Valley Forge National Historical Park kicks off its 50th birthday celebration, which continues through Saturday.
