Wild Flowers | Write Out Loud

Wild Flowers

These flowers grow together

But we do not

The flowers may grow wild and free

But we may not

Their colours are not questioned

Their colours don’t impose

Their colours improve the meadow

Whether daisy, fern or rose.

Wild flowers do not go to war

To please the bees

Wild flowers do not grow in shade

And blame the trees

Wild flowers let their roots entwine

And share a common soil

Even when they fade

Their uniqueness does not spoil.

Even when their time is done

They share everything they’ve got

They give all the things that we give too

And some things that we forgot.

Wild flowers grow together.
