Wasim Akram, Misbah-ul-Haq, Fakhr-e-Alam, Saeed Anwar, and several other personalities performed Hajj together this year. They were part of an official VIP Hajj arrangement organized by ARY Sports. During the Hajj rituals, Wasim Akram and his friends faced backlash for several reasons. Firstly, Wasim Akram made headlines for his viral swing-style Rami al-Jamarat video, which showed the ritual of stoning the devil. Later, another video of Wasim Akram holding bananas for Misbah-ul-Haq also went viral. Besides this, Fakhr-e-Alam extensively documented their Hajj journey, sharing videos and pictures with fellow celebrities, including Bilal Abbas Khan and Tabish Hashmi. Their Hajj trip was termed a “picnic” by many netizens.
Recently, Wasim Akram, Fakhr-e-Alam, and Misbah-ul-Haq responded to the criticism regarding their Hajj experience.
Talking about it, they said, “People asked why we didn’t shave our heads. Before coming for Hajj, we had already consulted Ulema-e-Karam, and they gave us two options: either shave our heads completely or perform Qasr, which involves trimming a portion of the hair. We chose the second option. The second criticism was whether we were on Hajj or a picnic. Hajj is a form of worship where we have 24 hours in a day. During that time, we worship, interact with friends, pray, and sometimes laugh and smile. This is also part of Hajj. My request to people is to study these matters before criticizing. We also made videos for young people who want to perform Hajj. The purpose of these videos was to educate people seeking the truth and to motivate the youth so that they can plan this blessed journey.” Watch here:

Speaking about the Hajj journey, Fakhr-e-Alam said, “We are in Madinah Munawwarah, right in front of Roza-e-Rasool (SAW). We have completed Hajj, and people are asking many questions. The most frequently asked question is what triggered or convinced us to go for Hajj.”
Responding to the question, Wasim Akram said, “There was no special plan. I told my friend that I would go whenever I felt ready. Since you and Misbah were already going, I decided to join as well. I am turning 60 soon, so I thought it was the right time. The journey was tough but manageable.” Misbah-ul-Haq also expressed happiness and satisfaction with his Hajj experience. He described it as a special journey and said that sharing it with his friends made it even more memorable.
