Warren Mendes is heading back to South Africa for a new season of Food Trail South Africa, with the 10-part series returning to Network 10 this weekend.
The fourth season will take viewers from the Great Karoo and De Hoop Nature Reserve to Cape Town, Johannesburg, KwaZulu-Natal and the Greater Kruger.
Hosted by South African-born Australian chef and television personality Warren Mendes, the series uses food as a way to explore the people, places and traditions found across the country.

Across the new episodes, Mendes meets chefs, producers, guides, conservationists and local communities, discovering the regional ingredients, traditions and stories behind the food.
Along the way, the series visits cities, wine regions, coastal communities and private nature reserves, while also exploring traditional braais.
Season 4 follows three previous 10-episode seasons which, according to the series announcement, have collectively reached more than five million viewers in Australia.
Previous seasons have also screened on SBS, while the series has been broadcast across 46 African countries, Japan, Poland and Canada.
The series is produced by Australian content company Projucer, which describes its work as spanning multiplatform programming, with a particular focus on branded content and entertainment.
Its catalogue includes series such as Desert Vet, Water Heart Food, Jack Stein: Inside the Box and Eat Australia, alongside Food Trail South Africa.

Mendes said the new season continues to uncover different sides of the country, with food providing an entry point to the people and stories encountered along the way.
“Even in our fourth season, South Africa continues to surprise me – with new places and new flavours I haven’t experienced before.”
The series will also extend beyond television in 2027, with a new Luxury Escapes Signature Series culinary tour inspired by Food Trail South Africa.
Hosted by Mendes and chef and television personality Miguel Maestre, the tour will give Australian travellers the opportunity to experience some of the destinations and food featured in the series.
Food Trail South Africa Season 4 premieres on Network 10 this Saturday 3 October at 3.30pm, with new episodes screening weekly – catch up at 10.com.au.
