Elections to the Panchayati Raj institutions in Rajasthan will be held in four phases, from October 23 to November 17, and the results for Zila Parishads and Panchayat Samitis will be announced on November 20. The State Election Commission released the poll schedule in Jaipur on Saturday (October 3, 2026), while stating that 4.03 crore voters would be eligible to exercise their franchise.

State Election Commissioner Rajeshwar Singh said at a press conference that the elections would be held for members of 41 Zila Parishads, 457 Panchayat Samitis and 14,403 village panchayats following delimitation and reorganisation of Panchayati Raj institutions.

Polling for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members will be held in four phases on October 23, October 29, November 4 and November 14. Elections for the posts of panch and sarpanch will be held on October 25, October 31, November 6 and November 16.

Mr. Singh said the counting of votes for panch and sarpanch would be taken up immediately after polling at the respective village panchayat headquarters. Elections for deputy sarpanch will be held on October 26, November 1, November 7 and November 17 for the respective phases.

As many as 45,384 polling stations will be set up across the State, while the model code of conduct came into force in the rural areas following the announcement of the election schedule. There will be 50% reservation for women in the Panchayati Raj institutions.

The number of electors in the villages has increased by 6.22% in comparison with the previous panchayat elections held in 2020-21. The elections for Zila Pramukh will be held on November 25 and Up-Zila Pramukh on November 26. Panchayat Samiti Pradhans will be elected on November 27 and Up-Pradhans on November 28.

Mr. Singh said the elections for the three-tier Panchayati Raj institutions were being held simultaneously, as the State Election Commission was fully committed to implementing the ‘One State, One Election’ concept.

“Elections for sarpanch and panch will be conducted using ballot papers, while electronic voting machines will be used for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members,” Mr. Singh said. The reorganisation of Panchayati Raj bodies has led to an increase in the number of Zila Parishads from 33 to 41 and Panchayat Samitis from 352 to 457.
