Yas Island is about to get a serious superhero upgrade.
Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi has officially revealed two new DC attractions that are set to bring even more action to one of the UAE’s most popular theme parks. The new additions, Kryptonite Collider and Superman Up and Away, will expand the park’s Metropolis zone and give visitors two very different ways to test their nerves.
One ride arrives this summer. The other could become one of the biggest attractions in the region when it opens.
Lex Luthor’s New Experiment Opens This July
The first attraction, Kryptonite Collider, officially opens on July 26, 2026.
Located inside Metropolis, the experience places guests directly into one of Lex Luthor’s latest schemes. Before boarding, visitors enter the fictional world of LexCorp through a series of immersive pre-shows promoting Luthor’s so-called Everyman Project.
The story quickly shifts from corporate presentation to supervillain experiment.
Once onboard, guests are seated inside a massive centrifuge-style ride vehicle capable of holding up to 32 riders at a time. High-speed motion, synchronized lighting effects, and immersive audio are designed to simulate the feeling of gaining superhuman abilities while trapped inside one of Lex Luthor’s dangerous tests.
The attraction concludes with interactive digital experiences that allow guests to see the results of their transformation.
A Superman Flying Coaster Is Coming Next
The bigger reveal is Superman Up and Away, a next-generation flying roller coaster currently scheduled for completion in 2028.
Unlike traditional roller coasters, riders will travel in a face-down flying position, creating the sensation of soaring through the skies alongside Superman as he protects Metropolis from danger.
When completed, the attraction will become the third roller coaster inside Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi and one of the park’s most ambitious ride projects to date.
While additional ride specifications have not yet been announced, the concept alone is already generating significant excitement among theme park fans.
Yas Island’s Entertainment Expansion Continues
The new attractions are part of a wider strategy to strengthen Yas Island’s position as one of the leading entertainment destinations in the Middle East.
Jonathan Brown, Chief Portfolio Officer at Miral, said the additions represent another major step in the park’s evolution and will further enhance its world-class entertainment offering.
Simon Robinson, President of Global Experiences and Studio Operations at Warner Bros. Discovery, described the attractions as a continuation of the company’s commitment to immersive storytelling and innovation.
Both projects expand the DC Universe presence inside the park while introducing new ride technologies and experiences for guests.
