Vivek Oberoi says Ranbir Kapoor made him see “My Ram Ji” in Ramayana: Part 1, calls Yash “brilliant” as Ravana
Addressing producer Namit Malhotra, Vivek wrote, “My brother Namit Malhotra, Ramayana is not just a film, it’s a MahaYagya for Bhartiya culture & values and playing Vidyuthjiva is my small Ahuti in this Mahayagya! Thank you for pushing me to do this bhai!” He also praised the scale of the project, calling it a defining moment for Indian cinema. “The world of Avatar may be a creation of imagination, but the world of Shri Ram is our civilisation, our heritage and our truth. What a defining moment for Indian cinema!”
Vivek reserved special praise for director Nitesh Tiwari, acknowledging the years he had dedicated to the film. He said, “I didn’t feel like I was watching a film; I felt like I had travelled back to the Ram Yug.” He also applauded Yash’s portrayal of Ravana, writing, “The grandeur, power and presence you bring to Ravan are something else.” Recalling the sequence featuring Ravana’s ten heads, he added, “Just brilliant!”
The actor was equally appreciative of Ranbir Kapoor’s portrayal of Lord Rama. “There may have been curiosity about how you would portray our beloved Shri Ram, but after watching you yesterday, I can simply say, I saw my Ram ji on screen,” he wrote. Vivek also praised Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman and Rakul Preet Singh, while appreciating Lara Dutta’s performance as Kaikeyi and Arun Govil’s presence as Dashrath.
Beyond the principal cast, Vivek acknowledged lyricist Kumar Vishwas and composer A.R. Rahman for their contributions. He also thanked cinematographer Mahesh Limaye, the direction and action teams, and the technical crew for the film’s visual storytelling.
Concluding his note, Vivek urged audiences to watch the film with their families, calling Ramayana a story of shared heritage and encouraging the next generation to experience its legacy.
