Triple premiership hero Chelsea Randall’s AFLW career comes to sad and sudden end due to concussion issues

Adelaide Crows triple premiership player Chelsea Randall’s AFLW career has come to a sad and sudden end in the wake of ongoing concussion issues.

The 35-year-old signed a contract extension in September last year but just days later copped a head knock that put her on the sidelines for two months.

She returned for the Crows’ finals campaign but has now been forced to call time on his career ahead of the 2026 season.

Randall was in “regular consultation” with Adelaide’s doctor, independent specialists and the AFL before making the decision “with her health and family in mind”.

“I will miss the immense joy that playing gave me, I’ll miss competing at the highest level, I’ll miss sharing the game with my teammates and playing in front of our members and supporters,” Randall said.

“I am incredibly grateful to the Adelaide Football Club, which has supported me both on and off the field over the past 10 seasons.

“I am also so grateful to the AFLW competition as a whole; to have been part of its growth from the very beginning has been an honour and one of the great privileges of my life.”
