More than 24 years after leaving the newsroom, Tina Altieri is returning to 9 News Perth in a new role producing and presenting special reports across Western Australia.
Alongside her special reports, Altieri will also present a weekly Crime Stoppers WA segment, highlighting unresolved cases where information from viewers could help make a difference.
Sharing the news on LinkedIn, Altieri said she was “back doing what I love” and was looking forward to getting back out across Western Australia, producing and presenting special reports alongside the 9News Perth team.
“I’ve always believed the best part of this job is the people you meet and the stories you’re trusted to tell. WA has plenty of both and I can’t wait to get back out there.”

Nine News Perth Director Michael Genovese said Altieri’s experience, storytelling ability and connection with Western Australia made her a natural fit for the role.
“Tina is one of WA’s most respected journalists, with an incredible ability to connect with people and tell the stories that matter most to our community.”
Altieri spent 13 years at 9 News Perth before leaving in 2002, later working across Seven, ABC and Network 10.
Most recently she presented Seven’s national afternoon news bulletin and has continued working across television and media in recent years.
The appointment reunites Altieri with the Perth newsroom more than 24 years after she departed the network in 2002.
