What if devotion could become an opportunity to learn?
For her 10th Ganesh Chaturthi creation, artist Aditi Mittal created a 5-foot Ganesha using 1,100 notebooks, turning pages into a tribute to knowledge, wisdom and new beginnings. Every detail, from Bappa’s face and trunk to his ears, hands and crown, was carefully created by stacking, arranging and folding the notebooks while keeping their pages visible.
But the real purpose of Gyaan Ganesha begins after the celebrations. After visarjan, all 1,100 notebooks will be distributed to underprivileged children and students who need them. As Aditi puts it, “Bappa transforms from a murti into knowledge in the hands of children.”
From books came Bappa. And after Bappa, those same books will become someone’s opportunity to learn. A beautiful reminder that art can do more than inspire us for a moment. It can create an impact that lasts long after the celebrations are over.
