Potholes are more than just a road problem — they can be dangerous for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.
After seeing how risky potholes could be for his own family, Bengaluru engineer Gaurav Sen built Pothole Detector, an app that uses your phone’s camera, GPS and sensors to detect potholes, identify the authority responsible for the road, and prepare a complaint with the exact location and photo.
The surprising part? He built the 4 MB app in just one day, without funding or a big team.
Now, Gaurav wants to go beyond simply detecting potholes — he wants to make it easier for citizens to report them and get the roads fixed.
