The Real Housewives of Rhode Island makes 7BRAVO debut

The latest instalment in the Real Housewives franchise heads to Rhode Island, where old friendships and new feuds collide in the Ocean State.

The Real Housewives of Rhode Island will make its free-to-air premiere on 7Bravo and 7plus next week, following its streaming debut on Hayu earlier this year.

The 14-episode first season follows Alicia Carmody, Rosie DiMare, Ashley Iaconetti, Liz McGraw, Rulla Nehme Pontarelli, Kelsey Swanson and Jo-Ellen Tiberi as they navigate friendships, relationships and shifting loyalties in Rhode Island’s closely connected social circles.

Former The Bachelor personality Ashley Iaconetti is among the cast, while The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Dolores Catania joins the group as a friend of the Housewives.

With plenty of history between the women, old issues quickly resurface as the group settles into its new dynamics. The season takes them from Newport’s Seaview Terrace to Block Island, where tensions continue to build.

There are also some more unexpected moments along the way, including Alicia’s love of crackers, which becomes a recurring talking point throughout the season.

And then there’s the “Slam Pig”.

The phrase emerges during the fallout between Rosie and Kelsey, becoming one of the season’s more memorable exchanges and even making its way into the reunion.

The first season also sees Rosie and Kelsey clash over the size of Rosie’s home, while Jo-Ellen and Rulla find themselves at the centre of their own growing tensions.

Away from the group drama, the Housewives are also dealing with changes in their personal lives, from Alicia’s involvement in fiancé Billy’s restaurant to Ashley adjusting to married life and Liz preparing to become a grandmother.

The series has already been renewed for a second season, with Bravo announcing the pickup in May following the show’s debut.

The Real Housewives of Rhode Island is produced by Evolution Media, with Andy Cohen among the executive producers.

The Real Housewives of Rhode Island premieres 9.30pm Wednesday, September 9 on 7Bravo and 7plus.
