LeBron James — arguably the best player to ever step onto the court — has signed what will in all probability be his last NBA Contract with the Sixers last week worth a reported $8 million with a player option at two years. The move doesn’t just propel a Sixers team to almost immediate Eastern Conference championship odds in Vegas. Rather — it raises that bar the City’s four major sports franchises that are already ascending.
The Sixers front office including President of Basketball Operations Mike Gansey and Jameer Nelson haven’t only added another chapter to the Process — new management has been on a whirlwind spree to add talent like Jaylen Brown, 2026 Draft Selection Labaron Philbon, Jr., Anfernee Simons, Caleb Love, Rayan Rupert, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Dean Wade, and Ariel Hukporti. And when we became victorious in the King James Sweepstakes or not — they have just propelled themselves to being a top contender for an NBA Championship next year.
Just a few months after the Phillies began this season with a meager nineteen wins — Interim Manager Don Mattingly has the team in second place in the NL East with a record of 59–53 after the All-Star break — and once again positioning one of baseball’s best rosters to compete for a World Series.
The Eagles didn’t just start a new season this week. They made history themselves with a historic deal to solidify the most expensive defensive tackle in NFL history. Jalen Carter’s new four-year, $152 million extension that includes $106 million in guaranteed money and $38 million per season. This as the Eagles return for NFL Training Camp 2026 both in the shadow of America’s Celebration of Independence and with the intention of moving past one of the most disappointing seasons in recent Eagles memory after winning Super Bowl LIX.
The Eagles may have lost a superstar in this past month — but have once again bolstered the roster through free agency and are a plus +1600 odds in Vegas to win another Super Bowl. The question isn’t whether or not Nick Sirianni’s 2026 Eagles can win a Super Bowl, it’s if they will.
And the Flyers — who have complimented their young team both through the NHL Draft landing Maksim Sokolovskii as well as in Free Agency — aren’t just youthful — they are exhilarating to watch.
It’s been nearly two decades since all four major Philadelphia sports franchises were in the playoffs respectively. This time — they are all riding a wave of energy that far outweighs any process.
For a City with the resilience to declare American Independence — you might even say —it’s historic. And as for The Process?
It appears to be a thing of the past. And thank goodness for that.
