Following the 17th Korean Film Festival in Australia, held in Sydney from 20 to 25 August, South Australian audiences will have the opportunity to experience four distinctive Korean films at The Regal Theatre in Burnside from 7 to 10 October, and the Victa Cinema in Victor Harbor on 10 and 11 October as part of its 2026 Touring Program.
The Touring Program aims to make Korean cinema more accessible to audiences across Australia, while encouraging community engagement and celebrating cultural diversity through film. By bringing selected films to audiences outside Australia’s major cities, the program offers more communities the opportunity to experience Korean stories and culture on the big screen.
Dr. Sunmin Yoon, Director of the Korean Cultural Centre Australia, said:
“Our goal has always been to share these films with audiences far beyond Sydney. We started the KOFFIA Touring Program in 2024 with three councils to reach regional communities, and this year, we are heading out to five locations. Through free screenings of four highlights from our KOFFIA 2026 selection, we are excited to bring these stories straight to your communities. We are incredibly grateful to our local council partners, whose warm support has made this regional journey possible.”
The program will offer audiences a diverse range of stories and cinematic experiences. The films are not scheduled for commercial theatrical release in Australia and are not currently available on Australian streaming platforms, making the program a unique opportunity for audiences to discover new Korean films. Tickets are free.

Once We Were Us – On a bus heading to their hometown, fate brings Eun-ho (KOO Kyo-hwan) and Jeong-won (MUN Ka-young) together, sparking an unlikely friendship. While battling a bustling and weary city life, they find themselves sharing lofty dreams and a love that comes to feel extraordinary. But, eventually, the harsh realities of life lead them to part ways.
Over a decade after the separation, the two unexpectedly reunite on a flight back to Korea, where they reflect on their lost time.
Maze – After losing his wife in a fatal accident, Young-moon (KO Kyung-pyo) becomes obsessed with the man responsible for her death. Desperate to find someone to blame, he hires a private detective named Hee-mi (OUI Ji-won) to uncover the truth. But as he draws closer to the answers he seeks, the truth he has long avoided leads him into an even deeper maze.
Project Y – Living in the heart of a glittering city, Mi-sun (HAN So-hee) and Do-kyung (JUN Jong-seo) dream of a different tomorrow. But when even that hope is stripped away and they’re pushed to the very edge, the two seize a desperate chance, stealing illicit cash and hidden gold bars they stumble upon in hopes of starting over.
As their escape begins, those entangled with the money and gold close in, turning Mi-sun and Do-kyung into the targets of an unforgiving chase…
Journey There – On a spring day filled with falling cherry blossoms, Chun-hee (KIM Hye-ok) moves into an old apartment near a hospital. When moving her grand piano causes trouble, Min-jun (Justin H. MIN), a conductor living in the same building, offers to store it for her. Min-jun, an adoptee from Germany searching for his birth mother, teaches Chun-hee piano and supports orphaned Seong-chan (PARK Dae-ho), who dreams of becoming a pianist.
Chun-hee had planned to end her life with her husband on the same day through assisted suicide, but due to an unexpected accident, he dies first.
