There’s much more to tennis style than what we see on the court. Nowhere is that better demonstrated than the Australian Open – and in 2027, BOSS is making a convincing case for a wardrobe that takes its cues from the sport.
The BOSS x Australian Open capsule was revealed this week – something we’ve been waiting for since the brand was announced as the Official Lifestyle Outfitter of the AO back in April. Of course, the collection was worth the wait: among the standout pieces is a chambray-blue pinstripe knit shirt paired with matching tailored crest shorts, as well as a tennis-inspired knit dress with sporty mesh detailing. There’s also technical blazers, bomber jackets and reversible windbreakers that merge performance wear with traditional tailoring elements (and are also a welcome addition, given Melbourne’s notoriously unpredictable weather). Importantly, the pieces are designed to work beyond the AO (and the tennis court) itself, wherever life might take you.
The collaboration also covers the uniforms worn by Australian Open umpires, ballkids and other tournament staff, bringing BOSS tailoring together with technical fabrics. And for fans who might want to take a piece of the tournament home, the capsule will also include replica teamwear, alongside pieces with more subtle BOSS x AO branding designed to be worn beyond the courts.
There’s a more technical side to the collection, too. Selected pieces are made with NovaPoly™, a yarn created from 100 per cent textile waste, with an additive designed to help it biodegrade under specific conditions. It’s also lightweight and designed to manage moisture, bringing a performance element to the everyday pieces.
