A teenager has fallen to his death from an apartment balcony while attempting to flee from police in Queensland.
Police said they were called to Spring Hill in Brisbane’s CBD about 5.50pm on Saturday after receiving information that a person wanted by police was at an apartment on Wickham Terrace.
The 18-year-old man from Annerley fled police when they arrived, attempting to climb from the sixth floor balcony to a lower level, but fell.

The man suffered critical life-threatening injuries in the fall and was declared dead at the scene.
“The State Coroner has been advised, and the Ethical Standards Command is investigating,” police said.
The investigation will be subject to independent oversight by the Crime and Corruption Commission, an agency that focuses on combating major crime and reducing public sector corruption.
Last month, a 19-year-old man was shot and critically injured by police during a welfare check in Brisbane’s north.
Emergency services were called to a home on Akebia St in Arana Hills, where the teenager was armed with a knife and experiencing a mental health episode.
The officer who discharged the firearm is understood to have been a first-year constable.
Police said a taser was deployed during the incident, but the timing of its use would form part of an investigation.
The incident unfolded inside the lower level of the home, with the man’s mother witnessing the confrontation.
