Super Bowl halftime show: Bad Bunny shares stage with Lady Gaga and more stars in politically charged performance

Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny delivered his highly anticipated 2026 Super Bowl halftime performance, complete with a star-studded line-up of guests including Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin.

The global superstar, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, took to the stage holding a football and wearing an all-white jersey.

Ahead of the halftime performance, the singer had received intense backlash from American conservatives and Trump supporters over his outspoken criticism of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers and his decision to perform in Spanish.

Bad Bunny’s moment on the international stage came after a milestone win at the 2026 Grammys, where he took home Album of the Year, making history as the first artist to win the prize for a non-English language album.

Bad Bunny performed hits from his award-winning album Debi Tirar Mas Fotos, including DtMF and NUEVAYoL.

He also took a moment to celebrate his Grammys triumph, with a scene showing a family sitting at a TV watching his speech, which took aim at ICE agents.

The singer then appeared to give his Grammy to a little boy.

This year’s mid-game spectacle followed a stellar pre-game line-up led by Green Day, who performed hits including Holiday, Boulevard of Broken Dreams and American Idiot.

Charlie Puth sang the national anthem, Brandi Carlile delivered a stirring rendition of America the Beautiful and Coco Jones performed Lift Every Voice and Sing as part of the build-up.
