Taylor, who also sits on the club’s board, was named by Eddie McGuire as the likely successor on Nine’s Footy Classified last night, adding fresh momentum to speculation around the CEO role.
“This man will be the next CEO of the Melbourne Football Club,” McGuire said.
The speculation follows a shock decision by the club to part ways with CEO Paul Guerra, less than a year after stepping into the role, triggering a swift search for new leadership.

Veteran administrator Brian Cook has since been installed in an interim capacity as the club works toward a permanent appointment.
Taylor currently holds a senior executive role within Nine Entertainment’s streaming and broadcast division, part of a restructured leadership team unveiled in 2025, with oversight across Stan’s sport and content operations.
His involvement at board level with Melbourne Football Club since December last year, combined with experience across premium sport rights and platform strategy, positions him as a strong internal candidate as the process unfolds.
