Sydney got a healthy dose of charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent as Stan celebrated the launch of Drag Race Down Under vs The World with a glittering preview event ahead of the new season.
Held at Universal on Sydney’s Oxford Street, the exclusive screening brought together past contestants, guest judges and plenty of Drag Race royalty for a first look at the opening episode before the competition officially begins.
Hosted by franchise judge and comedian Rhys Nicholson, the event featured a live performance from Down Under alum Max Drag Queen, while guest judges Beks and Keiynan Lonsdale joined red carpet commentator Fashion Critical among the special guests.

Also stepping onto the runway were Australian queens Art Simone, Coco Jumbo, Nikita Iman and Vybe, alongside international favourite Nicole Paige Brooks, with alumni including Hannah Conda, Pomara Fifth, Molly Poppinz, Etcetera Etcetera, Minnie Cooper, Ivory Glaze, Carmen Geddit and Faux Fur also attending.
The new series sees five queens from Drag Race Down Under take on six international competitors, with Michelle Visage hosting as they battle through challenges and runway presentations.
A new elimination format will also see the week’s top two queens decide which of the bottom two contestants is sent packing, adding another strategic twist to the competition.
Drag Race Down Under vs The World premieres on Stan from today, Friday 24th July, with new episodes released weekly.
