Sports personality Skip Bayless demanded the Browns to trade Shedeur Sanders after naming Deshaun Watson the starting QB this season.
Sports personality Skip Bayless was not happy with the Cleveland Browns’ decision involving quarterback Shedeur Sanders ahead of the 2026 NFL season.
Sanders is preparing for the second season of his career with the Browns. He garnered some starts as a rookie, showing flashes of what he can bring to the table in the league.
Sanders was competing with Deshaun Watson for the starting job throughout training camp and the preseason. Head coach Todd Monken named Watson the starting quarterback over Sanders going into Week 1, meaning a lot of eyes will be on the veteran to have his healthiest campaign in a Browns jersey.
Bayless, an open fan of the Dallas Cowboys, was not happy to hear the news about Cleveland’s starting quarterback. He took to social media to demand Cleveland trade Sanders to a certain NFC team that would have excitement with having the young quarterback on the roster.
“This sorry-ass franchise does not deserve to have Shedeur Sanders on its roster anymore. I wish there were some way that Jimmy Haslam and Todd Monken would decide, as we near the season, to get rid of Shedeur, to set him free, to trade him elsewhere,” Bayless said.
“I’d love to see Shedeur in Atlanta. Do I think Shedeur Sanders this coming football season could win more games than Penix or Tua could win? You better believe that I do. Shedeur Sanders is better than either quarterback that the Atlanta Falcons have right now that they’re trying to decide between.”

What lies ahead for Shedeur Sanders, Browns this season
Shedeur Sanders will be busy trying to make his case as the Browns’ starter in the future. If Deshaun Watson disappoints in the first set of games, Sanders may get his chance to shine then.
Sanders finished the 2025 season with a 3–4 record in seven starts, a 56.6% completion percentage, 1,400 passing yards, seven passing touchdowns, 10 interceptions, and one rushing touchdown.
The Browns will attempt to improve on their 5-12 record from 2025. They also intend to return to the playoffs after a two-year absence, and end their 33-season division title drought, last winning one in 1989.
Cleveland will have the first two games of its 2026 campaign start on the road. They take on the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 13 at 1 p.m. ET before facing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sept. 20 at 1 p.m. ET.
