Seven orders season two of CELEBRITY INTERVENTION

The celebrity interventions aren’t over just yet, with Seven on Wednesday confirming Glenn Robbins and Mick Molloy’s comedy format will return for a second season in 2027.

The renewal follows a debut season that attracted mixed reviews and, while earning respectable overnight audience figures, never quite matched the ratings success of many of Seven’s other entertainment shows, making the swift recommission somewhat of a surprise.

The Seven Network today announced that Glenn & Mick’s Celebrity Intervention will return for a second season on Seven and 7plus in 2027.

Season one of the hilarious original format, from the minds of comedy legends Glenn Robbins and Mick Molloy, saw Australian radio, television, music, comedy and sporting greats Carrie Bickmore, Sam Pang, Dr Chris Brown, Guy Sebastian, Dave Hughes, Mick Fanning and Jim Jefferies face the music, with a standalone Andy Lee episode still to come later this year.

The series was met with critical acclaim on its debut in April, reaching an average total video audience of 1.51 million people across the season, as Glenn, Mick, and the celebrity guest’s friends, family and colleagues revisited the highs, the lows and the moments they’d rather forget in a riotous look back at their life and career.

Southern Cross Media Group’s Managing Director, Television and Streaming, Angus Ross, said:

“When Glenn and Mick first pitched Celebrity Intervention, we knew it was unlike anything else on television. Audiences clearly agreed.”

“The show’s combination of comedy, chaos and affection made it an instant favourite, and we’re delighted to bring it back for a second season.”

“For the celebrities of Australia, consider this your official warning: interventions will resume in 2027.”

Glenn Robbins said:

“I’m very happy about a second season but not about sharing a dressing room with Mick again. He can get a bit handsy.”

Mick Molloy said:

“This is bad news for celebrities who’ve had it too good for too long. Prepare for a pantsing on national TV! No-one has more experience with interventions than me.”

“Sure, normally I’m on the other side of one, but this show has made me more qualified than some of those so-called experts with their fancy university degrees.”

“And thank you to Seven for the second season. They don’t hand those out lightly. Take it from someone who knows.”
