SEVEN confirms I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2027 return

The jungle is roaring back to life, with Seven officially confirming I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! will return in 2027 after finding a new home.

The announcement, made during Sunrise this morning, follows months of speculation after TV Blackbox exclusively revealed the series had been axed by 10 and was being shopped to rival broadcasters by ITV, before 10 later confirmed it would not return.

The long-running reality series first launched on 10 in 2015 and quickly became a breakout success, turning celebrities’ fears, friendships and jungle antics into one of Australian television’s most recognisable entertainment franchises across 12 seasons.

There were signs the franchise was entering a new phase before its cancellation was confirmed. The final season was pre-recorded rather than broadcast live, marking a significant departure from the format that had defined the series for more than a decade.

Following 10’s decision not to continue with the show, ITV Studios, which owns the format, shopped the Australian rights to rival broadcasters, with Seven ultimately securing the franchise.

Before its cancellation was confirmed, discussions had centred on several possible futures for the format, including an All Stars edition to celebrate the show’s milestone run.

Those plans ultimately failed to materialise as ITV Studios instead pursued a new broadcast partner.

Seven is yet to reveal where the revived series will sit within its 2027 schedule, or whether any of the show’s on screen talent will make the move.

Julia Morris and Robert Irwin hosted the show’s final three seasons on 10, while Irwin has an established relationship with Seven after being announced as host of the 2026 TV WEEK Logie Awards.

Another familiar face who could find himself back in the jungle is Dr Chris Brown, who hosted the series alongside Morris from its 2015 debut until leaving 10 in 2023.

Brown most recently fronted My Reno Rules for Seven and will next be seen in the new adventure series Once in a Lifetime.

With Dancing with the Stars absent from Seven’s schedule and My Reno Rules not expected to return next year due to its production turnaround, Brown is certain to feature in speculation should Seven decide to revisit the hosting lineup.

Southern Cross Media Group Managing Director, Television and Streaming, Angus Ross, said Seven was excited to usher in the next chapter for one of the world’s biggest entertainment formats.

“This is a proven franchise with a passionate fan base and we look forward to bringing our own fresh energy and ambition to its next chapter.”

ITV Studios Australia CEO and Managing Director David Mott said the company was looking forward to launching a new era for the long-running franchise after more than a decade on Australian screens.

“For over ten years, Australian audiences have loved this iconic show, and with terrifying trials, hilarious camp drama and heartfelt celebrity revelations, ITV Studios Australia is ready to deliver a brand-new era for the Jungle.”

The move also continues a long-standing trend of Australia’s biggest television formats changing networks.

In recent years, Australian Idol, Big Brother, Dancing with the Stars and The Voice have all found new homes after switching broadcasters, with Australian Ninja Warrior also expected to rejoin the list as 10 prepares to revive the format.

Beyond confirming the series will premiere on Seven and 7plus in 2027, the network is yet to announce filming details, celebrity casting or who will lead viewers back into the jungle.
