Dorchester Heights makes history books for its role in the 1775 Siege of Boston, but what has become known as Fort Hill in what was then the independent town of Roxbury was a player, too. In its more recent history, Fort Hill has become a neighborhood drawing interest.

This attached single-family — sometimes called a twin home — has a covered front porch protecting two matching doors with entry to different units.

Signaling its spot as the primary bedroom is the 56-square-foot walk-in closet. There’s also a 66-square-foot office next to the bedroom.

The second bedroom is 155 square feet, has two double-hung windows, a central light fixture, and hardwood flooring. The window trim is white, and the walls and crown molding are painted a gentle shade of olive.

The shared bathroom is 54 square feet. The mirror trim, faucets, and shower head are gold tone. The bath walls and shower backsplash are cloaked in cream tile with a vine and flower accent line.

The third floor qualifies as a quiet space, should one be looking for it. It’s the spot for the third bedroom — among the largest rooms in the house at 417 square feet. The ceiling lines mirror the slope of the roofline, the flooring is original to the home, and the walls are painted white.

The last full bathroom is on the third floor too, and it is fully updated with black and white hexagon mosaic tile flooring, a single vanity underneath a light fixture with three globes, and marble-like ceramic tile wainscoting. The shower is nested behind rolling plates of glass with steel framing and has two shower heads and a marble-like backsplash. There is a window in the shower.

There is a private deck off the back.
