DSP’s association with Ramayana also adds a significant new dimension to an already successful 2026 for the music composer, a year that has seen him praised as the heartbeat of Sing Geetham, unveil his acting debut Yellamma‘s first look, complete a sold-out four-city US concert tour, and now step into AR Rahman’s universe as a vocalist on a project of this scale.
Ramayana, produced by Namit Malhotra, is one of the most ambitious cinematic undertakings in Indian film history and AR Rahman’s score for it has been one of its most closely watched elements.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is a two-part saga. The first one is all set to release on November 5, which is just before the festival of Diwali. It stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, Yash as Ravana, Ravie Dubey as Lakshmana and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman. The second part is scheduled to release during Diwali 2027.
