Qatar Airways returns to Adelaide, reconnecting South Australia to its global network

Qatar Airways has touched down in Adelaide once again, marking the return of its services to the South Australian capital and strengthening international connectivity across Australia and New Zealand.

The reinstated route links Adelaide with Doha via Hamad International Airport, reconnecting travellers to a vast global network spanning Europe, the Middle East, Africa and beyond. The service also continues through to Auckland.

All Adelaide–Auckland–Doha flights will be operated by Boeing 777 aircraft equipped with Starlink high-speed Wi-Fi, offering gate-to-gate connectivity and allowing passengers to stay connected from departure to arrival.

Travellers departing Adelaide can expect the airline’s premium experience onboard, including the acclaimed Qsuite Business Class product, which features fully lie-flat beds, sliding privacy doors and an à la carte dining experience developed in collaboration with Australian chef Ross Lusted.

Business Class passengers will also be among the first to experience Qatar Airways’ newly introduced cocktail and mocktail menu, curated by award-winning mixologist Lorenzo Antinori, now available across Australia and New Zealand routes to and from Doha.

The airline’s onboard hospitality continues to attract global recognition, with Qatar Airways recently receiving 12 honours at the Business Traveller Cellars in the Sky Awards, including multiple gold medals for its wine and beverage program.

Qatar Airways was also named World’s Best Airline at the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2025 for a record ninth time, alongside accolades for World’s Best Business Class, Best Airline in the Middle East, and Best Business Class Lounge for its Al Mourjan Lounge – The Garden at Hamad International Airport.

Its Privilege Club loyalty program has also continued its winning streak, recently recognised at the 2026 WeMoney Travel Awards, including Frequent Flyer Program of the Year for the second consecutive year.

For South Australian travellers, the return of the Adelaide service restores a key international gateway and reinforces the city’s growing role in global aviation networks.

With direct access to Doha and onward connections to more than 160 destinations worldwide, Adelaide passengers now have even greater choice when it comes to long-haul travel, whether for business, leisure or visiting family abroad.
